MPEG-2 and VC-1 decoder, H.264 encoder and CEC support | Raspberry Pi

Just go to the shop page and choose a manufacturer license you are interested in, whether it is MPEG-2 kansas license for the price of 2.40 or VC-1 license for the price of 1.20. You will also need the serial number of your Raspberry Pi. How to get it? Easily.

As we know so RP has been specifically developed primarily as an educational product and not a media player. And since the manufacturer has chosen this path, whereas a license activates only one who is needed and who will benefit. This producer did not invest in nationwide licensing and forcing to pay for it and those who do not want it at all and do not need.
I wonder (as I have in the chaos) on this hardware support.
Yes and no is the answer to your question. If you mean whether the listening 1080p/DTS mkv files quickly so the answer is no. This new product is the MPEG-2 kansas and VC-1 Supported AT ALL that have not been yet, so the video in this format was not perhaps at play to RASP or if so only if the software decoding what was useless at higher resolutions. So after buying these licenses will finally kansas support playback of these formats hardware accelerated, which means that playing movies kansas encoded in codecs of these will be smoothly
In performance, it is basically a big difference when you got Whereas HW coded everything itself carries out integrated circuit (cell decoder is done by hardware-on-chip) and when you got software so everything kansas must perform processor and then everything must preratavat.
